Contact UsWhen it comes to your diesel vehicle’s performance, the suspension system is essential to ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride. It also helps distribute your truck and trailer’s weight to prevent too much stress at one point.
Typically using leaf springs, your truck’s suspension helps absorb the motion of the truck alongside supporting the weight of the load it can carry. The truck’s suspension can come under a lot of stress while on the job, which can cause cracking or flattening, so it’s incredibly important to keep up with regular thorough inspections and maintenance of the suspension system to keep the smooth ride going.
The team at Regen Diesel Repair is highly experienced and fully qualified in working on every type of suspension system on the road today, from leaf springs to air suspensions to everything in between, we’ve seen and worked on it all. We perform a thorough and in-depth assessment of your truck’s suspension system so we can ensure no fault or potential problem is missed. We can perform a full comprehensive replacement of any broken or faulty parts in your truck’s suspension so you can always be assured of a smooth ride without the worry of excessive vibrations or other problems. If your truck uses air suspension, we’ll closely inspect all necessary components like the airbags or air lines to ensure there’s no presence of leaks that could impact your suspension’s performance. We’ll always assess the air suspension’s electronic components to ensure that all signals are being properly transmitted to the necessary components exactly when they should.
While the majority of trucks on the road utilize either leaf springs or compressed air in their suspension systems, there are two other types available on diesel vehicles that your truck may possess: air-leaf type and tandem-axle rear suspension. The first type uses both leaf springs and airbags operating in concert. Air-leaf type suspensions are common on Peterbilt trucks while some Kenworth and Freightliner models also use them. Tandem-axle suspensions are more common on trailers, but can also be present on heavier diesel trucks. This suspension splits the load between two axles and their wheels to better distribute the load and provide a smoother ride, but the suspension must remain even to prevent too much stress and weight from sitting on one axle, thereby causing increased wear and damage.
